Engineering Interns H.F. Lenz Company, a nationally recognized Top 100 building & design engineering firm is seeking Engineering Interns for our 2026 Summer Internship Program. Our multi-disciplinary engineering teams are built on the core values of professional development, dedicated service, and collaboration. We are seeking Mechanical/HVAC and Electrical Engineering Interns to work with our team in Lancaster, PA. Our summer internship program at HFL cultivates future engineering professionals, looking to gain hands-on, real-world experience to enhance their education and professional skills. It's an opportunity for students to get to know us and for us to learn about them. What You'll Get: + Real-world application of engineering & design concepts - thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluids, power distribution, lighting, hydrology, surveying and structures + Hands-on experience with BIM/3D Modeling and building systems design. + Opportunities to work on real-life projects with top-notch clients. + Valuable experience with Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360, Civil 3D, and other software tools. + Mentoring opportunities to work with and be a part of multi-discipline engineering teams. + Networking opportunities with experienced and well recognized engineering staff. What You'll Get to Do: + Support a variety of engineering, drafting and design tasks related to various types of building-systems, structures and land development / site layout. + Learn and utilize basic principles of MEP design, focused in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems, and Civil / Structural design. + Introduced to leading edge software applications, including BIM360, Revit, AutoCAD and Civil 3D. + Coordinate designs with multiple-disciplinary project teams. + Travel to project sites and assist with existing condition surveys and other studies. What You'll Need: + Enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering program. + Knowledge of 2D and 3D modeling, including AutoCAD and Revit. + Proficiency with basic computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. + Academic coursework that is relevant to building systems is preferred. + Self-motivated with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills + A strong interest and desire to learn building systems design and construction. + Prior internship experience is preferred, but not required.
