Job Title: Engineering Intern

Overview
An Engineering Intern will assist the Chief Engineer in maintaining high standards of compliance, safety, and service excellence within the hotel. This internship provides valuable exposure to facility operations, preventative maintenance, and health & safety inspections. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, highly organized, and is currently enrolled in a civil engineering or a mechanical engineering program.
What will I be doing?
· Assist in routine inspections of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
· Support the team in executing preventive maintenance tasks in guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas
· Conduct surveys and inspections, modify/create preventative maintenance schedules in computerized maintenance management system
· Assist Engineering Coordinator with inventory/stock management
· Respond to guest service requests and minor repair issues under supervision
· Aid in troubleshooting technical problems related to lighting, air conditioning, appliances, etc.
· Help monitor and maintain safety and energy efficiency standards
· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory usage
· Ensure proper handling of tools, equipment, and safety procedures
· Participate in training sessions and departmental meetings as scheduled
· Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant engineering workshop
· Collaborate with team members to support ongoing improvement projects and renovations

· Currently enrolled in an Engineering, Facility Management, or technical program (Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Systems preferred)
· Strong interest in hotel operations, building systems, and hands-on technical work
· Basic understanding of building maintenance systems and tools
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
· Previous experience working within a hospitality environment is an asset but not required
· Knowledge of the hotel property management systems
