This individual will interact with product engineering, manufacturing, and quality functions. There are opportunities for January 2026 - August 2026 and May 2026 - December 2026. Learning outcomes: + Real-world experience in manufacturing process design and optimization. + Exposure to Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma principles, and quality systems. + Practical skills in CAD, data analysis, and manufacturing documentation. + Mentorship from experienced manufacturing engineers and cross-functional collaboration. + Tangible project(s) with measurable impact (cycle time reduction, yield improvement, cost savings). + Support day-to-day manufacturing engineering tasks and shop-floor problem solving. + Assist with process documentation: work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process flows. + Collect and analyze production data; support SPC, yield analysis, and process capability studies. + Participate in root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone), corrective actions, and preventive actions (CAPA). + Support Kaizen/continuous-improvement events and provide suggestions for waste reduction. + Help develop and validate assembly and test fixtures, jigs, and tooling. + Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and establishing machine setups and changeovers. + Support BOM/Router updates in ERP/MRP systems and create visual process aids. + Perform hands-on tasks as needed (measurement, inspection, simple fabrication, setup). + Prepare technical reports and present findings to engineering and operations teams. + Classified as actively enrolled in a 4-year Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related degree + Coursework or experience in manufacturing processes, machining, metrology, statistics, or quality engineering. + Experience with CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar). + Familiarity with SPC, Minitab/JMP, or basic statistical tools. + Knowledge of GD&T, PLC basics, automation/robotics, CNC machining, or 3D printing. + Prior internship or hands-on manufacturing/shop experience. + Data & statistics: Excel, Minitab, JMP, Python (pandas) + ERP/MRP: SAP, Oracle, NetSuite (if applicable) + Quality/Process: SPC, FMEA, CAPA, 8D Parker Hannifin is a Fortune 250 global leader in motion and control technologies and systems.
