About the team
Thales in the Netherlands has committed to the objective of becoming a ‘data-driven company’, where facts and unambiguous information are leading in decision making. Engineering Operations is boosting reach this objective and to drive digital transformation among the Engineering department.
You will join the team Operational Excellence & Performance. This team is enabling the improvement of delivery performance of our engineering department through data driven decisions and manages improvement projects based on the outcomes of assessments and root cause analyses.
About your future job
As a Business Analyst, you understand how our Engineering business operates, its processes and its information needs. Specifically, what insights are required to make well-informed decisions and improve business operations. At the same time, you have the right technical knowledge to translate business needs into information solutions. To provide these solutions, you are capable of either combining data to gather direct insights or clearly defining requirements to enable the IT-department to develop formal, standardized dashboards. In addition, you support the business in working effectively with the data by offering guidance on dashboard usage and delivering clear documentation.
Your main tasks/responsibilities are:
Assess business needs in terms of data/information to improve business activities and decision-making;Deliver reports to support accurate tracking and evaluation of KPIs;Perform analysis on data to support daily business activities and decision-making;Review and monitor business dashboards to identify and investigate (data) issues;Collaborate with relevant teams on data issues to improve quality and enhance governance;Test and validate new dashboards/reports to ensure data quality, accuracy, security, usability, and alignment with business requirements;Support and promote data-driven decision making across engineering teams;Develop documentation and training materials to help users understand and leverage data tools;You will match Thales and the team best if you:
A bachelor’s or master’s degree (preferably Business & IT) with 2+ years relevant work experienceYou are able to get up to speed very quickly with(in) the Thales organization, our solutions and our customers. You are curious, see opportunities and deal well with complexity.You are able to build bridges between the business information need and the technical possibilities;You have extensive knowledge about Reporting and Analytics tooling (preferably PowerBI)You are able to apply knowledge of data warehousing and PowerBI to translate this into requested solutions;You work comfortably in a multidisciplinary, international and cross-cultural team and easily collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and projects; You are a real team player and can easily liaise with various people; you are cooperative, yet decisive when it comes to your areas of expertise;Dutch nationality is required due to security and defense project regulations.Security screening (AIVD-B) is mandatory.Fluent in Dutch and EnglishWhat's in it for you?
