Engineering Apprentices x4
An exciting opportunity has arisen for four Apprentice Engineers to join our team, operating on a day shift. Successful candidates will complete a structured rotation across four key departments, gaining broad experience and developing core engineering skills throughout the programme. + Product Engineering + Process Engineering + Layout + Toolroom Most of the apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience. What you’ll do at work: + Develop a broad technical understanding of the manufacturing processes at Howmet + Learn ways of using data to troubleshoot and optimise processes + Help identify manufacturing issues and how to resolve them + Produce customer facing reports detailing conformance to engineered drawings and models + Develop an understanding of tools used in the industry and basic toolmaking skills to help maintain them + Follow work processes and safety standards closely to ensure a safe working environment + To be committed in working towards achieving the competencies set out in the apprenticeship standards + Maintain an apprenticeship training record to be produced when required Person specification: + An interest in engineering as a subject and the desire to learn and develop + Experience of engineering activities are advantageous but not necessary. This may include: + Hobbies or voluntary work + Previous work experience + Engineering related school subjects + Able to demonstrate a commitment to personal learning – this could include a hobby, project, or additional qualification + Able to adapt with a proactive approach to ways of working + Willingness to work as part of a team How does the apprenticeship work?
