Engineering and Facilities Manager
The Engineering and Facilities Manager oversees all engineering operations and facility management activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance. This role leads maintenance, facilities, and engineering teams, driving continuous improvement in equipment reliability, building systems, and manufacturing processes. **In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** + Serve as the primary point of contact for all facility-related matters, including building maintenance, machinery upkeep, and environmental management. + Lead and manage the maintenance and manufacturing engineering team, including technicians, engineers, and contractors, to ensure effective execution of production support activities and plant operations. + Develop and implement maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime. + Supervise the implementation of preventative and predictive maintenance programs to identify and address potential equipment issues before they escalate. + Manage the maintenance and manufacturing engineering budgets, including capital expenses, forecasting, cost control, and resource allocation. + Ensure compliance with safety laws and promote a culture of safety among team members. + Serve as the safety and ergonomics lead for all production equipment and processes, including design, selection, maintenance and training. + Develop and mentor staff, providing training and guidance to improve their skills and capabilities. + Plan and lead facility and capital projects, upgrades, and renovations, including utilities, HVAC and electrical systems including budgeting, scheduling and contractor oversight. + Participate in green initiatives and other environmental impact projects to ensure we are continuously reducing our carbon footprint. + Manage waste systems and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations. + Facilitate vendor selection for contract services and maintain positive relationships with contractors and vendors. + Support New Product Development activities by assisting in the design, specification, and selection of manufacturing equipment. + Ensure all facility systems (HVAC, electrical, utilities, building infrastructure) operate effectively and meet regulatory and safety standards. + Troubleshoot complex equipment and process issues, providing technical expertise to support production. + Develop long-term facility and equipment strategies to support capacity, quality, and cost‑reduction goals. + Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements; drive continuous improvement in EHS performance. + Oversee maintenance planning, work order management, spare parts inventory, and asset management systems. + Coordinate with production, quality, and leadership teams to align engineering and facilities priorities with business objectives. + Monitor facility energy usage and implement efficiency improvements to reduce operational costs. **For this Role, You Will Need:** + Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience. + Minimum of five (5) years of experience in plant engineering or facilities management. + Experience with project management related to manufacturing processes and equipment. + Experience in building/office renovations and managing outside contractors. + Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this position **Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:** + Proficiency in 3-phase power, compressed air systems, building water systems, and HVAC/R systems. + Seven (7) or more years of relevant experience, including facility renovations or capital improvement projects. **Our Culture & Commitment to You:** At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
