Job Description

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact on water infrastructure in the Middle East? We're seeking an experienced **Engineer - Water** to join our innovative team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. With a proven track record of delivering large-scale urban master plan projects featuring high-rise and mixed-use developments, you'll lead the design, development, and optimization of complex water systems that serve communities and support sustainable urban growth. Working with a collaborative team of engineering professionals, you'll tackle sophisticated water challenges while driving forward-thinking solutions that prioritize efficiency, reliability, and environmental stewardship across integrated urban environments.

 

Lead the design and development of comprehensive water infrastructure systems for large-scale urban master plan projects, including potable water networks, treatment facilities, distribution systems, and high-rise building water solutions, ensuring compliance with regional and international standardsDirect feasibility studies, options appraisals, and concept designs for complex water projects within urban master plan frameworks, analyzing technical requirements and providing strategic, data-driven recommendations to senior stakeholdersPerform advanced engineering analysis and modeling of integrated water systems using industry-standard software and tools to optimize performance, cost-effectiveness, and resilience in high-density urban environmentsLead multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, environmental specialists, and project managers, to deliver integrated water solutions that align with urban development objectives and master plan requirementsPrepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, calculations, construction drawings, and master plan integration reports that meet quality and regulatory standardsOversee project planning, scheduling, and risk management for large-scale programs, identifying potential challenges and proposing mitigation strategies to ensure timely and successful delivery across multiple concurrent projectsEngage strategically with clients, water utilities, government agencies, and stakeholders to understand complex project requirements, provide technical leadership, and ensure solutions align with urban development and community needsChampion emerging water technologies, sustainable management practices, and industry best practices, driving continuous innovation and improvement in project outcomes and organizational methodologiesTroubleshoot complex technical challenges and implement corrective actions to resolve design and operational issues, particularly in high-rise and vertically integrated developmentsMentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical capability development and knowledge transfer within the team and across the organizationContribute to the strategic development and continuous improvement of engineering processes, standards, and methodologies to enhance organizational capability in large-scale urban water infrastructure delivery

 

Qualifications

**Required Qualifications:**

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering disciplineMinimum 10 years of professional experience in water engineering, water infrastructure design, and large-scale urban development projectsProven track record of designing and delivering water systems for large-scale urban master plan projects, including high-rise and mixed-use developmentsDemonstrated expertise in water and wastewater system design for complex urban environments, including treatment schemes, distribution networks, and pipeline designAdvanced proficiency in engineering design software and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, EPANET, or similar modeling software)Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex technical challenges and develop practical, scalable solutionsExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to prepare clear technical documentation and present findings to diverse audiences, including senior stakeholdersComprehensive knowledge of water quality standards, environmental regulations, and industry codes applicable to water infrastructure projects in urban contextsProfessional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional certification, or active progress toward obtaining one

**Preferred Qualifications:**

Chartered or Incorporated status with a relevant professional institution (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, or equivalent regional body)Extensive experience working on water projects in the Middle East or similar arid/semi-arid regions, particularly within urban master plan frameworksSpecialized experience with water infrastructure for high-rise buildings and vertical urban developmentsDemonstrated expertise in sustainable water management practices, water conservation technologies, and circular economy approachesAdvanced project management experience or relevant certifications (PMP, PRINCE2) with demonstrated leadership on large-scale programsProficiency with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and integrated project delivery approaches in complex urban environmentsKnowledge of flood mitigation, stormwater management, water reuse systems, and resilience planning for urban areasExperience collaborating with water utilities, government agencies, international contractors, and urban planning authoritiesTrack record of mentoring junior engineers and contributing to organizational capability development
