Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Technician (Project Coordinator) to join a Utility Services company. The role involves supporting engineers responsible for the planning, engineering, and design of electric and gas distribution systems. The Engineering Technician will coordinate with various stakeholders, including permit agencies, right-of-way specialists, system owners, and 3rd party owners of joint-owned poles.
ResponsibilitiesAdminister and generate Joint Use fines.Generate and manage transfer notifications.Create and assign asset numbers for new projects.Intake, process, and manage engineering as-builts.Process and manage Right-of-Way permitting applications across multiple jurisdictions.Intake, approve, and process customer applications.Investigate work orders and transfer statuses related to the Double Pole project.Manage Master Pole Attachment Agreements and maintain Certificates of Insurance for over 150 wireline customers.Compile and generate billing reports for Accounting to issue invoices to Joint Use customers.Collaborate with Cost Accounting to accurately assign invoices to billable work orders.Issue permits for the Joint Use and Wood Pole Design teams, ensuring regulatory compliance.Conduct research and resolve customer complaints effectively.Create internal and external reports and performance metrics.Generate reports to identify work orders ready for closure.Monitor and address Customer Called Completes, including backlog of inspections and overdue customer final close-outs.Plot, research, and field quarter section maps, requiring ability to work in all weather conditions.Essential SkillsExperience with administration and engineering support.Construction and data entry skills.Permit application knowledge.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.Utilities or Telecom experience.Leadership skills.SAP knowledge.Experience with construction documents and right-of-way processes.AutoCAD proficiency.Ability to work with as-built documents.Additional Skills & QualificationsPermitting experience.Previous utility or telecom experience.Fielding experience.Client-facing experience.Personable, social, articulate, and engaging demeanor.Work Environment
The role will start as in-office full-time, transitioning to a hybrid work model with 2-3 days in the office each week. The position requires working in the field two days a week.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
