Job Description

HII Mission Technologies is hiring a motivated Software Engineer as part of a collaborative team that supports the research and development of Electronic Warfare (EW) technologies against threats present in the electromagnetic (EM) spectrum.  This involves the creation, maintenance, and use of technologies to achieve operational effectiveness in a contested / denied EM environment.  Engineers design, develop, build, and test specialized solutions for laboratory and field use to support the mission of the customer.  Commercially-off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom hardware/software/algorithmic solutions are utilized to fulfill labortory requirements.  The ideal candidate will work with an engineering team and is expected to support all stages of the software engineering processes including requirements, design, implementation, test, and archiving.  The position is located at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) in Ohio, where the majority of the work will take place.  Occasionally, travel will be required to support field tests and other facilities. 

Essential Job Responsibilities

Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.

Minimum Qualifications Three years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; One year experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience. Preferred Requirements

Experience in the following areas will be beneficial for the position:  

Software design/development/integration/testing/debugging  Proficient in C, C++, and Java  Programming scripts including Python, Perl, Bash, and/or others  AI/ML algorithm development  MATLAB or similar  Embedded software development using assembly and C  Development of software on the following operating system environments: Linux and/or Windows platforms  Physical Requirements

Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of a Software Engineer.  Work will be performed in an office or laboratory with the occasional requirement to work in an outdoor environment.
