Engineer- Mechanical BIM Design
**What you’ll do:** The Engineer – BIM Drafter creates and maintains high‑quality, performance‑optimized Revit families and BIM content for Eaton electrical assemblies, aligned to Eaton BIM standards, LOD targets, and the Eaton BIM report card. The role ensures accurate geometry, parameters (including IFC/COBie), MEP connectors, and consistent metadata, supports Inventor‑to‑Revit interoperability, and participates in UAT for plugins/automation as a content consumer (no coding responsibilities). Deliverables enable consistent, reusable content across ETO/CTO and stock product lines. • Build/maintain Revit families (LOD 200–350) for electrical sector with accurate geometry, clearances, connectors, and parameter schemas per Eaton BEP. • Govern the central BIM content library (versioning, deprecation, naming, shared parameters, templates) to ensure report‑card compliance. • Execute QA/health checks (warnings, purge/audit, file size), connector validation, and IFC/COBie data checks; publish QA records. • Support Inventor–Revit conversions and mapping; validate fidelity and data integrity. • Adhere to ISO 19650 practices, Eaton BEP, and LOD conventions for all content deliveries. • Collaborate with app engineering/product SMEs to clarify requirements; publish release notes and usage guidance to content consumers. • Participate in plugin/automation UAT (requirements, testing, defect logging, impact reporting) to enhance scripted outputs and model‑generation workflows. • Maintain documentation: content briefs, parameter dictionaries, checklists, and audit trails in the CDE. **Qualifications:** BE Mechanical 3-6 Years **Skills:** • Proficiency in Revit and experience in BIM modeling for electrical systems. • Familiarity with Autodesk plugin workflows and scripted output generation. • Understanding of electrical equipment and its application in ETO/CTO environments. • Experience working with 3D Inventor to Revit workflows is a plus." • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with incomplete or evolving product data. • Good communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. • Ability to interpret engineering requirements and translate them into BIM-ready outputs.
