ZF Active Safety and Electronics US, LLC has job openings (multiple) for the position of Engineering Manager-Software based out of its location in Farmington Hills, MI.

Job Duties:  Responsible for all key aspects of software development, including software requirements, design, code, integration, testing, release, software quality, and project management. Analyze customer requirements and automotive industry standards (e.g., AUTOSAR, MISRA, ISO 26262, ASPICE) to translate them into software requirements. Develop, test, and maintain high-quality embedded software for ADAS Camera and Radar products. Collaborate with hardware engineers and cross-functional teams to debug and validate software code. Analyze software defects using 8D/5Why analysis methods to identify root causes and resolve issues. Follow corporate quality processes for documenting embedded code. Initiate software change requests and participate in change control boards to discuss and review proposed software changes. Implement standardized software development processes and methods in projects, contributing to process improvements. Review software key performance indicators (KPIs) and report the status to management. Plan and manage software development, including task assignment, scheduling, and resource allocation. Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery of software releases. Monitor day-to-day activities of software engineers and review work products. Mentor software engineers, providing guidance on best practices and technical skills. Evaluate individual performance and provide feedback. Conduct interviews and make hiring decisions. A hybrid (in-office and telecommute) work schedule is available. Up to 10% domestic and international travel to visit customer sites and perform software and quality audits.

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field, plus 5 years of experience in automotive embedded software development, including AUTOSAR software development, and demonstrated experience with: ADAS camera and radar controls; Product lifecycle and project management using Windchill and PTC Integrity; Requirements management and model-based development including IBM DOORs and Enterprise Architect or IBM Rhapsody; Programming and coding standards including C/C++and MISRA; Statistic analysis and unit test tools, including QAC, Polyspace, Cantata++, and VectorCAST; Automotive communications protocols and tools including CAN, LIN, Ethernet, ISO 14229, and Vector CANoe; AUTOSAR, Functional safety (ISO 26262), A-SPICE, and cyber security (ISO21434); DevOps and Agile methodologies; Cloud computing platforms including MS-Azure; and Leading a team of 8 members or more. Must have Automotive SPICE® Provisional or Competent Assessor Certification
