Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: + Assist with daily operations of the District 58 Bridge Inspection Program and provide functional supervision over the Bridge Inspection, Maintenance, and Electrician’s units. Check inspection reports for accuracy. + Designs retrofits for bridge repairs and maintenance, coordinating with the Engineer 6. Assists with the coordination of materials, equipment, labor, press releases, and traffic control plans. + Conducts final acceptance and inventory inspection of new bridges. + Assists the Engineer 6 with the District Guardrail Repair contract management, coordinates with the contractor for repairs/replacements, and submits documentation for reimbursable claims. + Drafts plans and facility sketches, provides cost estimates, determines building specification to meet building codes, and provides innovative engineering design and construction ideas for District facility projects. + Compiles information for requests made by the public, other agencies, or the media. Checks work performed by contractors and vendors. + Assists in the design of proposed bridge projects and stage 0 studies. Attend plan-in-hand meetings to discuss project design and development on all types of bridge projects.
