We’re looking for an experienced professional, like you, to accept a high level of responsibility within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. In this role, you will design major components or major portions of functional Landing Gears systems, technically advanced prototypes, and specific products using computer design and engineering systems. You will also develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations; develop data and make parametric models, layouts, sketches, and notes for design proposals. This position will sit at our **Aguadilla** , PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered. This role is categorized as **hybrid** , with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager. **What You Will Do** + Conducts design activities of Landing Gear and Systems components working within an integrated product development team and coordinating with divisional engineering to ensure product excellence and integrity is achieved. + Support Change Requests process (CRs) by preparing detailed reports and executing key activities in support to the Landing Gears Design team. + Managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) + Work closely with manufacturing operations to disposition non-conforming material + Generates design documentation such as tolerance stack-ups, developmental and kinematic assemblies, interface agreements and proximity sensing analysis. + Generates layouts and conducts trade studies to determine optimal design solutions. + Generate detailed part and assembly definition drawings and models using CATIA V5 and other relevant design tools. + Create associated parts lists supporting part definition. + Investigate design related issues and develop effective solutions. + Utilize standard work and CORE/ACE tools to continuously improve the design process + Present designs proposals at internal reviews to ensure the design meets requirements and expectations. + Design to requirements and work with engineering team on requirements management. + Prepare detailed status reports using tools such Excel, Power Point, OneNote and Word. + Generate CR/CO through Team Center and have strong teamwork and communication skills with the process approvers. **Qualifications You Must Have** + Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience **or** an Advanced Degree in a related field + Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written). + U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract **Qualifications We Prefer** + BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field preferred + Pro-efficient in CATIA, NX or similar CAD tool. + Experience interacting with configuration management (CM). + Knowledge and Experience working Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Tolerance Stack up Calculation, Weight Analysis, etc. + Maintains compliance with ITAR and regulatory requirements. + Ability to influence and mentor others within the work area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices. + Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally when circumstances permit. + Ability to work in multiple tasks and capable of changing priorities quickly and effectively. + Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities. + Perform other duties as required. + Capability to work and collaborate with engineers locally and across the globe. + Teamcenter (or other collaboration space) knowledge is a plus. + SAP knowledge is valuable. + Experience in Structural, Dynamics or Thermal Sciences is a plus. + EVMS experience and knowledge is a plus. + Project management /MS Project is valuable. + Desirable experience Manufacturing processes and procedures. **What We Offer** Some of our competitive benefits package includes: + Medical, dental, and vision insurance + Three weeks of vacation for newly hired employees + Generous 401(k) plan that includes employer matching funds + Participation in the Employee Scholar Program (ESP) + Life insurance and disability coverage + Employee Assistance Plan, including up to 8 free counseling sessions. + And more! **Learn More & Apply Now!** Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry.
