THE TEAM

The Archtics Gravity Team is comprised of talented software engineers that support one of Ticketmaster’s core ticketing platforms. The platform, Archtics, is the primary tool used by major sports leagues as well as major event venues across North American and International locations and our team created backend services over the system to serve multiple products/consumers in the ticketmaster ecosystem.

Our mission is to develop features that support the organic growth of Archtics clients, ensuring retention and exceeding market expectations. We develop code that scales well during heavy traffic, is fault-tolerant to minimize the impact to our fans, and meets architectural standards. THE JOB

The Senior Engineer – Quality needs to have skills to ensure the quality and reliability of back-end services and UI applications through comprehensive testing strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience in manual testing as well as automating tests, Test Driven Development, Behaviour Driven Development and be adept at using a variety of testing tools and frameworks to support development projects. The ability to adapt testing approaches to each project and collaborate effectively with both internal teams and offshore development teams is crucial to this position’s success.

This role will focus on delivering high-quality, on-time code releases through automated and manual testing methods, developing and implementing testing strategies for multiple projects, and guiding the testing phases of the software development process. You would be responsible for designing and executing test plans, managing automated test scripts, to ensure the highest standards of quality.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

You’ll be documenting test cases, automating test scenarios, writing TDDs/BDDs for JAVA services and perform manual testing of a legacy UI application along with database code (SAP SQL Anywhere and MS SQL Server)Enhance engineering standards for testing, tooling, and processes to improve quality and efficiencyWork with offshore development teams to ensure the quality of new features and scalability of applicationsDesign and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts, ensuring clean, secure, and reusable codeUtilize advanced tools and techniques for debugging and fixing complex issues across services and levels of the stackStrategize testing approaches for multiple development projects, providing direction on software testing and quality assurance processesHelp train and onboard other team members when neededOther design requirements and responsibilities as necessaryYou’ll be working closely with product and program managers to understand requirements and advance our agile development practices. Communication is a major aspect of this role.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES)

4+ years of direct experience in quality assurance rolesA minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related subjectFamiliarity with Appium or Selenium WebDriver, and testing frameworks like Mockito, TestNG, Junit, Cucumber and PlaywrightStrong experience in automating tests, performance testing (JMeter) and security testing.Solid knowledge of SQL and ability to write queries against Relational DatabasesProficient in atleast one backend programming language, Java (preferred)Familiarity with version control, defect tracking, and test management tools (GIT, Jenkins, JIRA).Demonstrated ability to automate testing of high-traffic, low response time APIs and conduct end-to-end integration and performance testing.Experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools.Good understanding of JSON and XML data formats.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with a diverse teamAssist Product Manager and Business System Analyst with test plan, estimations and scenarios based on Feature and User story themes.Comfortable in Agile, Kanban, or similar modern development environmentsExperience with AWS services is a plus, especially in the context of cloud-based testing, CI/CD pipelines, and scalable infrastructure.
