This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, which includes the ability to work from home, while also requiring to be in person as needed at our Lakeside and/or Clayton Corporate HQ campus locations in St. Louis, Missouri.

Responsibilities

As an Engineer 2 you will be responsible for using your technical knowledge of professional concepts to solve business problems.  We are looking for a talented individual that can serve as a subject matter expert in their area of focus and represent their department on complex assignments.  You will be responsible for evaluating elements of technology's effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research and investigation and make recommendations for improvements that result in increased quality and effectiveness.  You will be required to listen to and evaluate customer needs to determine and provide high quality solutions that align with customer expectations.

 

Responsibilities:

Modifies medium to complex code and develops medium to highly complex application code independently within or outside various teams using applicable technologySchedules and presents own code specifications and programming logic at code reviews as well as contributing to others’ code reviewsPerforms local development builds, application integration builds and code mergesTests and fixes own defects and other low to highly complex defects; Develops unit tests and test scriptsMigrates applications to quality assurance and/or production environmentAnalyzes and reviews software requirements to determine the feasibility of design within time and cost constraintsUses knowledge of professional concepts and company objectives to resolve a wide range of moderately complex issues in creative and cost-effective waysFocus on operational and tactical activitiesParticipates and assists project teams with project planning; coordinates activities of project phasesWorks on small to large, complex assignmentsEscalates complex issues; resolves moderately complex issues; recommends potential solutions to issues; follows established escalation proceduresMakes recommendations for new procedures for the departmentPrepares and delivers informal and formal presentations; Presents designs to architects, leadership, and business at department meetings or business meetings with project managers or managers; Represents team in meetings outside of the departmentProvides instruction and guidance to less senior team members on new tasks and assignments; ensures deadlines are met; May informally coach and mentor less senior team members individuallyCreate new and maintains documentation on application modifications and updatesRotate shifts for being on-call with a management escalation pointMonitors application logs and status; takes appropriate action based on the statusImplements complex modules, enhancements, or change requests based on a provided design
