General Summary:
Role Summary
We are seeking a hands-on, domain-strong engineer to architect, build, and optimize embedded platforms on Zephyr OS with deep ownership of BSP modules and low‑power strategies.The role encompasses activities around platform bring-up, driver/application development, and end-to-end system power and stability.The role expects co-working with cross‑functional teams (sensors, display, connectivity, product SW).Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
• 3 to 5 years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Must-Have Skills
Demonstrated expertise in C/C++ programming, with proven ability to write efficient code for low-power, memory-constrained embedded systems.Strong understanding of embedded application development and integration with platform components.Hands-on experience in RTOS-based environments; exposure to Zephyr is a must.Exposure to Zephyr platform customization (Kconfig, devicetree, CMake/West manifests), kernel tuning, and subsystem integrationHands one experience with one or more if bootloader, HAL, clock/power, interrupts, and peripheral drivers (I²C/SPI/UART/GPIO/Timers/Watchdog)Proven experience in implementing advanced low-power use cases and integrating complex display and sensor solutions for smartwatch platformsExposure to system-level and device-level power management policies for embedded platformsIn-depth knowledge of ARM architecture, particularly Cortex-M series, leveraging architectural features for performance optimization.Ability to read through/investigate complex SOC designsAdvanced troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve complex system-level issues across hardware and software boundaries. Hands-on knowledge of using JTAG based debugger is a mustProficient with debug tools (JTAG/SWD, logic analyzer, oscilloscope, T32/J-Link)Excellent communication skills, with the ability to author and review detailed design documentation for complex features and interfaces.Knowledge of CI for embedded targets (build/test/sign‑off), own code reviews, and enforce secure coding and MISRA‑like practices.Experience in Mentoring junior engineers; lead small feature squads and cross‑team task forcesDesirable Skills
Exposure and/or prior exposure to BT and BLE stacks/ Other applications (battery/haptics/audio/RSB services/middleware) for wearables.Proven record of Integration of BT host/controller stacks, HCI transport, and controller featuresDevelopment of application frameworks for pairing UX, device settings, diagnostics Application optimizations e.g. X% improvement in latency and throughput for BLE connections under concurrent workloads.Solid knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, with experience in automating build and deployment processes for embedded environmentsApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
