Job Summary: 

Responsible for engineering analysis and technical validation of aftermarket parts used in HVAC equipment. This role supports North America Trane Supply by performing part supersession analysis, reviewing engineering documentation, assisting with 3D/2D deliverables, updating Bills of Material, and ensuring accurate and reliable technical information for aftermarket operations. HVAC experience is preferred but not required. The position requires strong mechanical/engineering fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to apply structured problem‑solving in a multi‑tasking environment.

 

  

Responsibilities:   

Engineering Analysis & Design Support

Conduct technical evaluations of mechanical and electro‑mechanical components to support design decisions and part selection.

Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, test reports, and product documents.

Participate in (or lead) part qualification activities, including defining requirements, proposing test methods, and assessing performance against acceptance criteria.

Support engineering change processes by providing technical justification and risk assessment.

Assist in creating 3D layouts and 2D drawings when required.

 

Product Documentation & Data Integrity

Maintain accurate engineering documentation, including Bills of Material (BOM), engineering specifications, and technical reports.

Ensure product data is complete, consistent, and aligned with engineering standards throughout the component lifecycle.

Support internal tools, templates, and workflows that improve engineering consistency and execution quality.

 

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Work closely with aftermarket engineering, sourcing, quality, service, and product management teams across regions.

Provide technical insights to enable faster and smarter decision‑making.

Participate in Aftermarket NPD (New Product Development) projects or continuous improvement activities to enhance product performance and reduce cost.

 

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

Apply Lean principles and structured problem‑solving to improve processes.

Look for opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.

Contribute to a culture of safety, sustainability, integrity, and innovation.

Qualifications: 

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

4+ years of experience in product engineering, component development, product validation, or related technical roles.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings, material specifications, tolerance requirements, and mechanical components.

Experience developing or executing test plans for parts or assemblies.

Strong analytical skills with familiarity in data analysis or statistical evaluation.

Proficiency in Excel and basic experience with engineering documentation or ERP/PLM systems.

Able to participate in basic English meetings with North America teams and clearly explain work status or technical questions in English. CET‑4 minimum.

Preferred

Experience in design, qualification testing, or engineering validation in HVAC, automotive, consumer electronics, machinery, or similar industries.

Experience working with suppliers, test labs, or manufacturing teams.

Familiarity with DFMEA, reliability engineering, or structured problem‑solving tools (A3, 9 Step Problem Solving).

CAD model capability (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo).

CET‑6 or equivalent English proficiency.
