As an engine overhaul engineer, you will supervise and mentor senior technicians, technicians, and mechanics to carry out assembly, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repairs, refurbishment, modifications, testing, and rectification on all types of aircraft engines, engine systems, and engine components to a high standard at the EEMC.

You will hold approval to certify your own tasks as well as those directly under your supervision, to certify and release to service work carried out in accordance with airworthiness requirements and the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) recommendations.

In this role, you will: Supervise the activities and work of direct reports by providing mentoring and guidance to ensure that work is carried out efficiently in line with individual targets. Assist with providing feedback to direct reports when targets or goals are not being achieved and work with the individual to improve performance. Complete own and supervised tasks accurately by utilising knowledge of the engine overhaul process, company procedures, and the use of the ESM, IPC, CMM, SBs, and ADs, ensuring paperwork and MRO ERP (IFS) system tasks are completed progressively and in accordance with company procedures. Apply knowledge of tooling, equipment, and facility to carry out tasks safely and to the highest quality standards. Supervise direct reports to ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures. Participate in and promote a safe working environment in alignment with EEMC safety policy. Report any non-conformance in safety and quality immediately via company procedures. Act to mitigate any observed unsafe condition and prevent any incident. Ensure all near-miss situations are reported via company procedures and highlighted to the line manager or operations manager. Ensure own attendance and that of direct reports align with the sectional shift pattern. Actively participate in all meetings and projects, using skills and knowledge to contribute to process improvements, increased efficiency, or better practices over time. Assist direct reports with the development of competencies, mentor technicians and mechanics, and identify areas of improvement to achieve the desired skill level. Provide assistance and guidance to technicians with applications for approvals focusing on regulatory and compliance guidelines. Conduct staff annual business contribution evaluations (MyBC) to effectively set goals and competencies through quarterly and annual performance reviews. Qualification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

Degree in engineering fields: aeronautical, mechanical, maintenance, avionics, electronics, or tech engineering; or Valid maintenance engineering licence; or Apprenticeship of at least 2 years. Holder of engine shop authorisations. Work experience of 7+ years in an aviation maintenance environment as an aircraft or engine technician with a reputable airline or MRO company. Knowledge and skills required: Ability to delegate tasks and lead a team to ensure all work carried out and progress is aligned to the production plan. Competent and experienced with reviewing, understanding, and actioning airworthiness directives (ADs) and service bulletins (SBs). Engine assembly & disassembly Experienced and competent in arrival/incoming inspections and health checks inclusive of borescope inspections, removal and installation of components, external ducts and plumbing, engine mounts and major modules. Ability to use measuring equipment and carry out calculations to confirm serviceability. Additionally competent in visual inspection. Complete duplicate inspections or critical task inspections as required. Ability to delegate tasks and lead a team to ensure all work carried out and progress is aligned to the production plan. Module assembly & disassembly Experienced and competent in module and sub-module disassembly and assembly, inclusive of balancing, stack prediction, and ability to use measuring equipment and carry out calculations to confirm serviceability. Additionally competent in visual inspection. Complete duplicate inspections or critical task inspections as required. Ability to delegate tasks and lead a team to ensure all work carried out and progress is aligned to the production plan. NDT Experienced and competent in all types of non-destructive testing of piece parts, modules, engines, and components, inclusive of FPI, MPI, USI, and ECI. Inspection Experienced and competent in all types of inspection of piece parts, modules, engines, and components. Competent and experienced in identifying all defects and assessing against ESM limits, assessing repair possibilities, and dispositioning accordingly. Competent in use of all measuring equipment inclusive of CMM, Farrow Armand Shadow Graph. Ability to delegate tasks and lead a team to ensure all work carried out and progress is aligned to the production plan. Repair Experienced and competent in all types of repairs of piece parts, modules, engines, and components. Inclusive of bench fitting, machining, etching, painting, and composite repairs. Competent in use of all measuring equipment and visual inspection. Ability to delegate tasks and lead a team to ensure all work carried out and progress is aligned to the production plan.
