SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking an Electrical Apprentice I that will assist with utility-scale projects, ensuring safety and compliance with electrical regulations while training under a journey-level electrician. Responsibilities include installing, repairing, and maintaining energy equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using various hand toolsSafely use hand and power tools after proper training (drills, crimpers, cutters, etc.)Lift, position, and fasten objectsPrepare, handle, and supply materials and tools for electrical tradesMaintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipmentWork under immediate and close supervision according to standard instructions and proceduresBuild relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsPull DC and MV wire and perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GEDSome construction and/or electrical experienceCurrent driver’s licenseLimited ability to read and interpret documents (safety regulations, blueprints, etc.Ability to work with power and non-powered hand toolsWillingness to follow instructions and ask clarifying questionsAbility to work safely with electrical equipmentKnowledge of electrical systemsAbility to handle materials weighing up to 200 lbsStrong teamwork orientationPositive attitude and professional customer service skillsActive listening and effective communication skillsAbility to frequently work in heat and other weather conditionsFrequently crouch, kneel, squat, climbRepetitive hand, arm, leg movement*Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.Please note: this position description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the duties and responsibilities of the position. **for CA, CO, WA, MN only** The base pay range for this role is $25.49-$50.99 per hour. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
**for CA, CO, WA, MN only** Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
