Energy Marshal
Job Description Our client seeks an Energy Marshal to lead Energy Isolation Management for a mission-critical datacenter build-out. This role ensures compliance with safety standards, drives consistency, and mitigates risk across all energy isolation activities. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Oversee and enforce the Energy Isolation Program using SPS-101 standards. Audit isolation processes, close gaps, and maintain program documentation. Review Statements of Work (SoWs), Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and scripts to confirm all energy sources are identified. Establish centralized Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and permit processes. Verify training, qualifications, and PPE for all personnel. Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in incident investigations and stop unsafe work immediately. Liaise with Microsoft Operations to prevent impact on live datacenter systems. Skills and Requirements 8+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Electrical construction or electrical trades QA/QC in electrical systems Electrical engineering or related technical field work Leadership roles such as Electrical Superintendent or Electrical Foreman Strong background in electrical engineering principles or hands-on electrical work. Experience running large jobs, overseeing large crews, and ensuring compliance with electrical codes. Ability to interpret line drawings and system redundancies to ensure LOTO systems are 100% effective and meet client standards. Hands-on experience with installation plus QA/management responsibilities. Experience with datacenter or advanced technology projects. Expertise in hazardous energy control and NFPA 70E compliance. Familiarity with MEP systems and critical electrical equipment (UPS, switchgear, generators). Knowledge of construction techniques, terminology, and documentation (blueprints, electrical one-lines, construction drawings). Practical experience with building management systems, automation, and controls frameworks. Bachelor’s or Masters in Electrical Engineering + 1 year.
