Your Role as an EMS Remote TechnicianAs a remote EMS Technician, you’ll support, maintain, and troubleshoot Energy Management Systems from your home office, ensuring optimal performance for commercial clients. Your responsibilities include:
Monitoring EMS platforms for HVAC, lighting, and energy-consuming systems. Diagnosing and troubleshooting system alerts, faults, or failures remotely. Configuring and calibrating system parameters for energy optimization. Performing software updates, patches, and backups on EMS platforms. Assisting on-site technicians with diagnostics and corrective actions. Generating and analyzing energy usage reports, recommending optimizations. Documenting work in ticketing or CMMS systems with precision. Tools & Support Company-issued iPad and iPhone for remote work. Fully stocked take-home company vehicle for occasional travel. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided. QualificationsRequired:
4+ years of experience in construction or facilities management. 3+ years of experience in EMS troubleshooting. EPA Certification. High school diploma or GED (trade school or apprenticeship preferred). Valid driver’s license and personal transportation for job-related travel (reimbursed).Physical Requirements:
Climb ladders carrying up to 30 lbs., lift up to 75 lbs., and work in confined spaces (e.g., crawlspaces, attics) during occasional site visits. Willingness to wear PPE.Additional Requirements:
Flexibility for travel (1–2 weeks per quarter) for client visits or meetings. Ability to pass drug, background, and driver’s license checks.Skills & Abilities:
Technical expertise in EMS platforms, HVAC, lighting controls, and building automation protocols. Strong remote troubleshooting and diagnostics skills. Excellent verbal and written communication for client and team interactions. Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues. Time management to balance multiple priorities. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project (SharePoint and CRM knowledge a plus). Relationship-building skills for client and industry connections.
