Job Summary
Our Energy Engineering co-op program will challenge and develop your technical, business, leadership, and communication skills. The experience will provide you insight into an Energy Engineering career with Trane Technologies. Working with our Digital Services team, you will be assigned meaningful work for our Intelligent Service and Energy Services businesses which are focused on helping our clients to achieve their mission more efficiently and sustainably. This opening is an addition to an already robust coop program consisting of a cohort of three to five energy engineering coops. Co-ops completing multiple rotations with us build knowledge in the areas of energy, HVAC, and building automation and have the opportunity to become one of our customer’s trusted advisors. For those who mutually agree their skills are a fit for a career at Trane, this co-op enables advanced starts for roles in Energy Services, Intelligent Services, and Technical Sales roles. Candidates also have the opportunity to join our industry leading Graduate Training Program (GTP) after graduation.
Where is the work:
This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.
What you will do:
As an Energy Engineer Co-op, you will learn to interpret and teach customers how to understand their utility bill, how to connect their building operations to their organization’s mission, and how to talk about both in a way that compels the customer to action. You support the sales team by benchmarking potential customers’ buildings compared to industry peers and quantifying what is possible for the customer if they partner with us. You support the day-to-day fulfillment of our Intelligent Services agreements by acting as an integral member of an account team; utilizing utility bills to update energy visuals, ENERGYSTAR scores, and carbon emissions. Your opportunities to learn in the field, under the supervision of your mentor will include customer consultation meetings and energy audit walkthroughs.What you will bring:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferred disciplines: Energy, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial. Be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future. This role requires on-site in-office work to foster collaboration and learning with teammates. Opportunities exist to convert to Hybrid and/or relocate to another office in the Southeast region depending on the candidate and business needs. Possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, ability to provide proof of insurance, and have no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 3 years Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $15.00 - 30.00 per hour
Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
