Position Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Energy Analyst to join JLL’s Integrated Facilities Management business in a specific client account. The Energy Manager will lead the utilities management services for the account across several EMEA countries (initially 12 countries but seeking to grow in the medium term). Services include utilities procurement, invoice validation, retrospective invoice auditing, invoice payment management, invoice reporting, utilities consumption data capture and online systems data management, consumption data analytics and reporting, identifying opportunities to reduce consumption and save cost, and extensive client liaison. The Energy Manager will work closely with the Account Director and account Finance Manager to ensure overall client objectives are met. Some infrequent EMEA travel is required to attend client meetings, supplier meetings, management presentations etc.
Key Responsibilities
PPA Bill Validation & Reconciliation (UK)
Validate UK Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) bills for accuracy against contract terms and market dataPerform detailed reconciliations of PPA settlements, including imbalance charges and generation volumesAnalyse discrepancies between expected and actual PPA costs and resolve billing issues with suppliersMonitor and track GOs/REGOs and other renewable energy certificates associated with PPAsUtility Bill Validation
Conduct thorough line-item validation of utility bills across global deregulated energy marketsVerify tariff structures, consumption data, demand charges, taxes, and regulatory feesIdentify billing errors and pursue corrections with utility providersMaintain comprehensive records of utility bill validations and cost recoveriesEnergy Procurement Management
Coordinate energy procurement events across global deregulated marketsAnalyse market conditions and pricing trends to recommend optimal procurement strategiesPrepare RFPs and bid documents for energy contractsEvaluate supplier proposals and perform detailed cost analysesSupport contract negotiations with energy suppliersQualifications
Education & Experience
Educated to degree level3+ years of experience in energy analysis, preferably with focus on bill validation and procurementExperience working with UK power purchase agreements and global deregulated energy marketsKnowledge & Skills
Strong understanding of electricity market structures, billing components, and pricing mechanismsProficiency with energy data analysis and bill auditing techniquesExperience with energy procurement processes and supplier negotiationsAdvanced Excel skills and experience with energy management softwareKnowledge of renewable energy certificates and associated compliance schemesPersonal Attributes
