As a Junior Accounts Payable Officer within the Portfolio Service Centre (PSC) Finance team, you’ll play a key role in supporting utilities and accounts payable operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career finance professional to build hands‑on experience in contract administration, invoice management, and stakeholder engagement within a fast‑paced, supportive environment.

You’ll work closely with our Finance Service Centre to ensure smooth processing of utilities invoices, timely issue resolution, and accurate reporting—while learning best‑practice processes in a large, global organisation.

Job Description

Junior Accounts Payable Officer – Utilities

Location: Parramatta, NSW | Australian Citizens Only

Please note: This role requires Australian Citizenship due to mandatory security clearance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with utilities reporting, including late fees, GAP reporting, and pending landlord processing

Resolve accounts payable exceptions related to utilities

Support reconciliations for utilities and council accounts

Manage and respond to accounts payable queries efficiently

Liaise with internal stakeholders to support timely issue resolution

Help identify process improvement opportunities within AP and utilities workflows

About You

This is a junior-level role, ideal for someone looking to grow and develop within finance:

Previous experience in Accounts Payable (essential)

Exposure to utilities processing (desirable but not required)

Experience with JDE or similar ERP systems (preferred)

Strong Excel skills and ability to work with reports

High attention to detail and a methodical approach

Clear and confident communication skills (written and verbal)

Ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines

Comfortable working with systems and data to resolve issues
