Overview

Northwest HealthCare, six miles west of Christian, offers 24- hour emergency care, the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of outpatient diagnostic and imaging services.

 

GI Lab provides diagnosis and treatment for all diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Esophagogastroduodenoscopies and colonoscopies are performed in the GI lab. Diagnostics for GI bleeding or reflux, and treatment for GI bleeding or polyps also are performed


Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Under the direction of an RN and/or physician, the Endoscopy technician assists with diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including transporting patients, disinfecting and process equipment, preparing the procedure room, and assisting in patient care.

 

Responsibilities

Processes instruments and equipment, orders and keeps inventory of supplies, and maintains equipment.Maintains database for endoscopy, and keeps accurate statistics pertinent to endoscopy.Transports patients and assists patients with changing.Trains staff in areas specific to endoscopy instrument processing, supplies and the maintenance of equipment.
