Job Summary
The Advanced Endoscopy Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the advanced endoscopy department, ensuring high-quality care, operational efficiency, and the continuous development of clinical staff. This role involves the coordination of advanced endoscopic procedures, managing the endoscopy team, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering a collaborative environment between physicians, nurses, and administrative staff. The manager will also play a key role in optimizing resource utilization, implementing quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Staff Management:Supervise and manage a multidisciplinary team including nurses, technicians, and support staff in the advanced endoscopy unit.Provide training, development, and mentorship to staff to ensure clinical competency in advanced endoscopic procedures.Perform staff evaluations, provide feedback, and implement corrective actions when necessary.Foster a collaborative, supportive environment that emphasizes teamwork, communication, and the delivery of excellent patient care among all areas. Advanced Endoscopy Services Management:Oversee the scheduling and coordination of advanced endoscopic procedures, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely patient care.Develop and maintain policies and procedures specific to advanced endoscopic services in compliance with medical standards and healthcare regulations.Monitor the delivery of care to ensure adherence to best practices, patient safety protocols, and high standards of clinical quality.Ensure the proper use and maintenance of endoscopy equipment, including high-definition endoscopes, ultrasound equipment, and other advanced tools. Quality Assurance & Improvement:Establish and implement quality assurance and performance improvement programs aimed at enhancing patient care, reducing complications, and optimizing procedure outcomes.Collect, analyze, and report on clinical data related to advanced endoscopy procedures, patient outcomes, and department performance.Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, providing insights into performance metrics and suggesting improvements based on data analysis.Address and resolve any issues related to patient care, infection control, or equipment malfunction in a timely manner. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, patient safety standards, and infection control protocols.Monitor regulatory changes and updates in endoscopic procedures and adapt policies accordingly to maintain compliance with industry standards.Prepare for and support department audits, surveys, and inspections by regulatory bodies or accrediting organizations. Financial Management:Assist with the budgeting and financial planning for the endoscopy department, including staffing, equipment procurement, and operational expenses.Work with hospital administration to control costs while ensuring high-quality patient care and service delivery.Monitor and manage the use of supplies, equipment, and technology to ensure efficient financial stewardship. Collaboration with Physicians & Clinical Teams:Work closely with gastroenterologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care during advanced endoscopic procedures.Facilitate communication between departments and ensure that all required documentation is completed accurately and timely.Attend clinical rounds and multidisciplinary meetings to discuss patient care, procedural outcomes, and potential areas for improvement. Patient Satisfaction & Advocacy:Ensure patient and family education is provided regarding advanced endoscopic procedures, potential risks, and post-procedure care.Address patient concerns and complaints in a professional manner, ensuring satisfaction and optimal patient experiences.Advocate for patients throughout the endoscopy process, ensuring timely access to care and excellent outcomes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Radiology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred).Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in endoscopy, with some experience in supervisory or management roles.Strong knowledge of advanced endoscopic procedures, including ERCP, EUS, and other specialized techniques.Expertise in endoscopy equipment, patient safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance.Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in budget management, quality improvement processes, and data analysis.Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 25 pounds.Ability to stand or sit for extended periods during the workday.Occasional exposure to patient-related bodily fluids and biohazardous materials.Working Conditions:
Full-time position with some on-call or after-hours availability.Work in a hospital or outpatient clinic setting, with potential for occasional travel between locations

Education
• Bachelor's Degree (Required) Preferably in Nursing, Radiology or Healthcare Administration
