Responsibilities
Respond to Emergency Calls:Quickly and safely respond to a wide range of emergency medical calls, including medical emergencies, trauma incidents, accidents, and more.Provide Pre-Hospital Care:Administer essential basic life support (BLS) interventions, including patient assessment, vital sign monitoring, airway management, CPR, bleeding control, and fracture immobilization, according to established protocols.Patient Transportation:Safely transport patients to appropriate medical facilities, continuously monitoring their condition and providing ongoing care during transit.Operate Emergency Vehicles:Safely and skillfully operate emergency vehicles under various conditions, adhering to all traffic laws and department policies.Effective Communication:Maintain clear and concise communication with dispatch, medical staff, law enforcement, and patients/families, providing accurate reports and updates.Documentation:Complete thorough and accurate patient care reports (PCRs) and other necessary documentation in a timely manner.Equipment Maintenance:Ensure readiness of ambulance and equipment by performing daily checks, cleaning, and restocking medical supplies.Community Engagement:Participate in training, drills, and community outreach events as needed, fostering a sense of teamwork and preparedness.Adhere to Protocols:Meticulously follow all local, state (MN Department of Health), and federal regulations and established medical protocols.
