Will teach rescue squad personnel advanced life support courses.
Will provide classroom instruction as well as conduct practical instruction for rescue squad members.
Will monitor BLS and ALS support therapy administered by rescue squads coming to UVA.
Reviews specific ambulance calls with physicians nurses and rescue squad personnel.
Change procedures as reflected by data collection.
Involved in regional EMS regulatory committees.
Attends State EMS committee meeting as necessary.
Assists with planning and implementing teaching programs on a statewide level.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Position Compensation Range: $56,763.20 - $90,812.80 AnnualMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Associate's Degree required within 3yrs of hire date. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience: 1 yr of relevant experience required.
Licensure: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse or certification as a Paramedic in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling and bending/stooping and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
