EMS Liaison - Emergency Medicine and Services

A registered professional able to train and maintain rescue squad personnel to deliver quality patient care to patients requiring tertiary care. This position requires that the nurse be a skilled practitioner with responsibility and accountability for the assessment plan implementation and evaluation of regional pre-hospital providers.
+ Will teach rescue squad personnel advanced life support courses.
+ Will provide classroom instruction as well as conduct practical instruction for rescue squad members.
+ Will monitor BLS and ALS support therapy administered by rescue squads coming to UVA.
+ Reviews specific ambulance calls with physicians nurses and rescue squad personnel.
+ Change procedures as reflected by data collection.
+ Involved in regional EMS regulatory committees.
+ Attends State EMS committee meeting as necessary.
+ Assists with planning and implementing teaching programs on a statewide level.
+ In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Position Compensation Range: $56,763.20 - $90,812.80 Annual
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Associate's Degree required within 3yrs of hire date. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience: 1 yr of relevant experience required.
Licensure: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse or certification as a Paramedic in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling and bending/stooping and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
