Description
The EMR Specialist is responsible for supporting the training, implementation, and ongoing optimization of an electronic health record (EHR) system for clinical and non‑clinical users. This role partners cross‑functionally with technical and operational teams to ensure effective system adoption, workflow alignment, and end‑user support. The position provides comprehensive assistance across all phases of the EHR lifecycle, including implementation, maintenance, upgrades, and on‑site support as needed.
Essential Functions
Deliver effective classroom and hands‑on training for clinical, administrative, and billing staff
Provide on‑site and at‑the‑elbow support to facilitate smooth transitions from training to live system use
Troubleshoot system issues in accordance with established support protocols
Maintain a strong working knowledge of all EHR applications and functionality
Perform system maintenance, testing, reporting, and documentation of configuration changes and outcomes
Investigate and resolve end‑user support requests and help desk tickets
Support the rollout of new system modules, enhancements, and updates
Test new builds and features during implementation and ongoing maintenance cycles
Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate and improve workflows, system integration, and operational efficiency
Assist with workflow redesign and process improvement initiatives
Ensure data integrity and compliance with established IT policies and procedures
Perform additional duties as assigned

Strong technical aptitude and computer skills
Experience working with EHR systems (Epic experience preferred)
Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly in training environments
Highly detail‑oriented with strong organizational and follow‑through skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment
Clinical background (e.g., Medical Assistant or Nurse) strongly preferred
Education and Experience
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience working with an Epic EHR system
Prior experience in a healthcare or medical office setting required
Epic certification preferred

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
