Role Purpose

You will provide legal advice on all areas of employment law, including contracts, TUPE transfers, disputes, policy development and employee relations for PMI in the UK.

 

Location: PMI Global Studio located in London St. Paul'sEC4 (2 days/week) & Hammersmith (1 day/week); hybrid per company policy

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Employment Advisory:

Deliver clear, timely advice on the full employment lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and exits.Draft, review, and maintain employment documentation, including employment agreements, contractor arrangements, and related vendor agreements.Advise the People & Culture team on employee benefits strategy and related vendor contracting.

 

Employee Relations & Disputes:

Advise on investigations, employee relations matters, and sensitive employment-related issues.Manage pre-action disputes, Employment Tribunal cases, and develop litigation strategies, including drafting, negotiation, settlement, advocacy, and stakeholder communication.Coordinate and advise on contentious and non-contentious matters, including settlement agreements and dispute resolution, in collaboration with the UK’s People & Culture team.

 

Organisational Change:

Support restructures, redundancies, and TUPE processes, including documentation and stakeholder engagement.Advise and guide senior management on organisational changes and cross-border employment law issues.

 

Governance, Compliance & Training:

Monitor legislative developments and deliver training programs for the People & Culture team.Track and interpret new or pending employment legislation and advise on strategic implications for the business.Develop and implement employment policies and processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws and alignment with business objectives.Advise on employee data subject access requests (DSAR) and other data privacy matters affecting employees.

 

Stakeholder Partnership & External Counsel:

Build trusted relationships with the People & Culture team, senior leadership, and other business stakeholders.Co-ordinate with external counsel.Act as a key point of contact for employment law matters, proactively identifying and escalating key issues for timely and effective resolution.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

Provide legal support on strategic employment and benefits projects as part of cross-functional teams.Review employment-law provisions in commercial contracts and advise on workforce-related aspects such as TUPE and international equivalents.Provide support to commercial lawyers on procurement-related contracts as needed, with opportunities to participate in regulatory work streams and assist with other general matters as required. Embrace legal technology and innovation, including AI tools, to improve legal processes and outcomes.

 

Required Qualifications & ExperienceQualified UK solicitor with solid post-qualification experience (PQE); 4+ years’ commercial experience preferred.Experience as an employment lawyer (including private-practice and preferably in-house exposure).Experience advising on and managing contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including investigations, employee relations, restructuring, and TUPE.
