What we need   

As Employment & Compliance Counsel, you will serve as a strategic and trusted legal partner providing expert legal guidance on all employment and human resources matters. You will play a crucial role in supporting workplace health and safety compliance, mitigating legal risks, and developing and implementing company policies. This is a hands-on role where you will advise leadership and HR partners on complex legal issues to ensure the company's practices are compliant and consistent with business goals. Position reports to SVP and General Counsel. 

What we do   

The Legal Team is responsible for ensuring the company operates within the bounds of the law, managing risk, and protecting the company's interests.   

    

What you’ll do   

Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of a wide array of complex and a trusted legal business partner who works effectively with colleagues, internal stakeholders, and external advisors to drive progress and achieve shared objectives and outside counsel partners​. 

Evaluate complex legal & workplace situations, weigh risks & consequences, and provide pragmatic, actionable recommendations​. 

Advise on employment issues, including agreements, policies, hiring, performance management, and labor laws compliance​. 

Identify and mitigate employment & safety risks, support internal investigations, and contribute to the development and enforcement of workplace policies​ 

Manage and advise on internal investigations into employee complaints, allegations of misconduct, or other sensitive workplace issues. 

Clearly convey legal guidance, works with cross-functional stakeholders, and facilitates alignment across diverse teams​. 

Own responsibilities, deliver high-quality work on time, and ensure outcomes meet business and legal objectives​. 

Lead workplace investigations 

Responsible for policy development and implementation. 

 

What you’ll need   

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. 

Minimum 3 years of progressive experience working in a law firm, 2 years corporate in-house legal experience, with a focus on human resources, employment law, OSH, risk and regulatory compliance. 

 Excellent communication, analytical, and legal research skills. 

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 

Hybrid schedule (minimum 3 days per week in office) based in Wilmington, MA office. 

Our Environment   

Up to 10% travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.   

The employee is responsible for possessing a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis
