EMESA Compliance Associate Analyst - temporary position (13 months)

What You'll Do

The EMESA compliance function forms part of BCG’s Risk Management and Compliance team. The Compliance team provides steering and oversight on critical compliance topics that anchor how we all support each other, our clients, and run our business – with policies, processes, and systems which we continuously improve. The team develops and implement smart capabilities, toolkits, frameworks, and trainings, to empower BCG staff to act in accordance with our Values and Code of Conduct, and to promote adherence to laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies and procedures. 

 
This is a generalist compliance role that will involve supporting compliance advisory, training, communications, reporting, and procedural tasks under guidance, relating to the systems within EMESA. The role will support and contribute to a variety of compliance tasks and projects to help achieve effective compliance outcomes and efficiencies, for topics such as, but not limited to, the clients and topics we take on, bribery and corruption, insider trading, conflicts of interest, third-party risk, and information management. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO  

Support senior team members in promoting the compliance function as a trusted advisor. Support day-to-day tasks relating to compliance programs (e.g., compliance training rollouts, preparing agendas and materials for correspondence/meetings, drafting presentations, and collaborating with other regional teams). Support the System Commercial Advisory through preliminary reviews of clients and/or topics, escalating matters to senior team members and collaborating with Legal as appropriate. Assist with tracking the local adaptation and implementation of risk-mitigating measures (e.g., policies and processes). Support the consolidation of risk reporting and mitigation measures across systems by gathering, validating, and summarizing inputs for a regional view. Act as a supporting point of contact for local system staff across compliance topics, responding to routine queries and routing complex matters to senior colleagues. Respond to compliance queries using established guidance, templates, and processes, or connect staff to the appropriate team when escalation is required. Support operational tasks related to compliance training and communication exercises. Receive compliance-related information and management information (MI) from business stakeholders or the Global Compliance team and accurately collate, format, and maintain data in standardised reports. Assist with compliance risk identification and reporting by collecting data, performing basic analysis, and documenting findings. Support bottom-up compliance risk identification exercises, including aggregating inputs and preparing draft analyses and reports for review. Assist project teams (as allocated by the line manager) to ensure that compliance considerations are identified, documented, and escalated appropriately from inception to delivery. 

 

YOU’RE GOOD AT 

Experience in an international working environment. Exposure to project-based or operational work, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Confidence engaging with cross-functional stakeholders with guidance and support. Good problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to seek guidance when appropriate and apply feedback. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and balancing competing, time-sensitive demands.Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong English written and oral communication skills, including clear and concise writing and active listening. Additional languages are desirable. 

What You'll Bring

An academic degree in a relevant discipline. 0–2 years of relevant experience, which may include internships or early-career roles in compliance, risk management, audit, fraud examination, quality control, risk analysis, or related fields within professional services, financial services, or international organizations. Microsoft Office proficiency (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and willingness to learn additional tools such as Trello and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).Commitment to confidentiality and responsible handling of sensitive information. Strong communication English skillset in written and spoken.

Who You'll Work With

You will be part of the EMESA Compliance Team reporting to the Director. This team sits within a network of regional Compliance teams. The team has a reporting line into the Global Head of Compliance.
