Our Emerging Talent Program in Engineering and Technology inspires and guides recent graduates through career-shaping experiences. This two-year program consists of rotational assignments in Technology roles. The program is designed to accelerate participants' professional development through intense technical training and a variety of business-critical assignments.

Program graduates have the technical and business foundation to continually make innovative contributions to our future, taking energy forward. 

  

As part of our Emerging talent Program, you will be responsible for: 

Participating in intentional and structured career development activities and receiving active coaching and mentoring 

Completing formal training in engineering fundamentals essential to the Baker Hughes Engineers and relevant for the business 

Networking globally and cross-functionally, leading program initiatives or projects with peers, interacting with global business leaders cross-functionally 

Solving critical business challenges through cross-functional, mission-based teams 

  

Fuel your passion 

To be successful in this role you will: 

Have a master's degree in one of the following engineering disciplines 

Instrumentation & Control / Electronics & Instrumentation 
Competencies: 

Strong understanding of sensors and transducers 

Knowledge of PLC and DCS systems 

Familiarity with open and closed‑loop control principles 

Solid foundation in process control 

Awareness of electrical and functional safety requirements 

Understanding of networking, communications, and cybersecurity 

Electrical Engineering 

Competencies 

Strong knowledge of VFDs, transformers, generators, and motors 

Understanding of electrical generation, transmission, and distribution systems 

Familiarity with power flow, short‑circuit, transient, and stability analyses 

Experience using simulation tools such as ETAP, PSCAD, and PSS/E 

Mechanical Engineering (Machine Design, Thermal, Fluid Dynamics, or Aerodynamics) 

Competencies 

Strong understanding of mechanical design for rotating equipment (compressors, gas turbines, pumps) 

Knowledge of associated auxiliary systems 

Ability to perform mechanical calculations using advanced methodologies 

Experience with tools such as UG NX, CFD, and programming/automation applications 

Have a maximum of three years’ work experience post-degree 

Have a GPA greater than or equal to 3.0/4.0 or equivalent 

Be fluent in English (oral and written) and have effective communication skills 

Be inquisitive and outwardly present a thirst for more knowledge 

Be geographically mobile (locations vary) 

Be legally entitled to work within the country in which you are applying without sponsorship or time restrictions (all regions)
