Experienced Emergency Veterinarian – Grand Rapids & Byron Center, Michigan

Practice progressive emergency medicine in two new state-of-the-art hospitals.

 

The Opportunity
Join a talented emergency team that serves two hospitals:

Animal Emergency & Specialty Hospital of Grand Rapids Animal Emergency & Specialty Hospital of Byron Center  

This position provides variety, collaboration, and the chance to work alongside specialists as well as fellow ER clinicians.

Doctors typically split time between the Grand Rapids and Byron Center hospitals, with schedules built for optimal work–life balance. Full-time ER veterinarians work 12-13 shifts per month, with flexible shift trading and generous opportunities to request time off. Our ER clinicians perform emergency surgeries, offering the chance to build and strengthen surgical skills. Mentorship is provided for doctors who are newer to abdominal surgery and excited to grow. A collaborative culture and strong cross-hospital communication ensure doctors always have access to medical support, including during overnight coverage.

Team of 29 doctors across emergency and specialty services, including Ophthalmology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Critical Care. A collegial environment that values teamwork, open communication, and shared commitment to excellent patient care.
