Emergency Veterinarian - Ethos ER Immerse Mentorship Program – Grand Rapids and Byron Center, Michigan

Are you a new graduate veterinarian or someone interested in emergency medicine who is looking for the right support to launch your career? At Animal Emergency & Specialty Hospital, we are proud to offer a structured 12-month Emergency Medicine Training and Mentorship Program that combines hands-on learning, strong mentorship, and a culture of teamwork.

What makes our program unique

Mentorship-first approach: For the first 8–10 weeks, you will be paired with a dedicated doctor who does not see their own cases but instead focuses solely on supporting you through yours. One-on-one mentorship: You will be matched with a primary mentor who provides guidance both during and outside of clinical shifts throughout the year. Exposure to specialties: Mentees rotate through each specialty service to gain well-rounded knowledge and build collaborative relationships. Hands-on clinical training: You will manage real cases with direct supervision, supported by a collegial team committed to best patient outcomes. Didactic learning: The program includes monthly virtual rounds with other Ethos mentees, as well as VetBloom training modules to strengthen medical knowledge and decision-making. Balanced scheduling: Our doctors average 13 shifts per month, fewer than many emergency hospitals, allowing for both professional growth and work-life balance.
