**Job Summary**
The Emergency Planning Manager is responsible for managing/leading emergency planning staff in maintaining the Emergency preparedness Program which functions to protect the health and safety of the public and station employees in the event of an emergency at the site. This is a regulatory required program, 10CFR50.47.
**Job Description**
**Key Accountabilities**
+ Accountable for maintaining the Emergency plan, procedures and programs as required by 10CFR50.47.give the Emergency Planning Supervisor direction for the goals and objectives to be obtained over the year (s) in this area.
+ Accountable for training the Emergency Organization both onsite and offsite 10CFR50.47.Give an EP Supervisor direction for accomplishing this training.Monitor the training to ensure compliance.
+ Accountable for exercising the Emergency Organization as required by 10CFR50.47.Give an EP Supervisor direction for that type of exercise and the criteria associated with the exercise.This also includes the drill program.
+ Accountable for ensuring that the Emergency Planning Staff is knowledgeable and well trained.10CFR50.47.Reviewing training courses, assigning EP personnel to attend QAEP audit at other nuclear facilities and giving training on current events in the nuclear industry.
+ Accountable for the liaison between TU electric and local governments, state agencies and federal agencies.10CFR50.47.By having personal contact with these officials and in giving Direction to an EP Supervisor to enhance this relationship.
+ Accountable for informing the public of the Emergency Public Information Program.10CFR50APP.E.By giving direction to an EP Supervisor for calendar advertisement and other information and determine the adequacy of the alert notification system.
+ Accountable for the 0 7 M budget and Capital Expend. For the EP organization and maintaining this budget.Through budget analysis and neededmodification develop a budget that meets the company’s goal.
+ Develop the EP staff to be a better team and a more efficient organization.Coach the organization and develop/organize specific training or situation to build this function.
**Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements**
+ 8+ years nuclear emergency management experience, ERO leadership experience, or a role with direct responsibility for emergency preparedness regulatory compliance.
+ 5+ years experience working with the nuclear industry.
+ Bachelors degree, or equivalent combination of skills/experience/certifications.
+ SRO License (former/current), SRO/MGMT Cert., or combination of skills/experience with nuclear operations.
+ Progressive experience in supervisory/leadership roles.
+ Strong quantitative skills and business acumen.
+ Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication
