optimal pharmacotherapeutic outcomes for emergency patients The Emergency Medicine Pharmacist serves as a vital member of the multidisciplinary care team and is responsible for medication related decision making real time order verification and support during emergency responsesProvide real time clinical pharmacy support during emergency resuscitations including cardiac arrests stroke alerts and rapid sequence intubationsPrepare and dispense emergency medications and guide nursing staff on safe and accurate administrationEvaluate and verify medication orders for appropriateness dosing interactions and therapeutic duplicationParticipate in the development and implementation of ED specific medication protocols guidelines and order setsMonitor for and manage adverse drug events medication errors and drug interactionsServe as a drug information resource for ED clinicians regarding formulary agents dosing administration and pharmacokineticsPrecept pharmacy students during ED
