Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner (Full-Time)

The Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner (EMNP) provides comprehensive, patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. The EMNP evaluates, diagnoses, and manages acute presentations across the lifespan, performs appropriate procedures, prescribes medications, and delivers high-quality clinical care within the scope of practice. The role also includes patient and family education, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to clinical and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
+ Perform focused and comprehensive physical examinations, assessments, and diagnostic evaluations.
+ Order, interpret, and act upon laboratory studies, imaging, and other diagnostic tests.
+ Formulate differential diagnoses and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
+ Provide timely and appropriate interventions for acute and urgent conditions.
+ Perform emergency-appropriate procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting, incision & drainage, simple reductions, wound care).
+ Prescribe medications and therapies per state and federal guidelines.
+ Educate patients and family members on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
+ Collaborate closely with emergency physicians, specialists, and nursing staff to ensure coordinated care.
+ Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record.
+ Participate in quality, safety, and continuing education initiatives.
+ Maintain compliance with all regulatory and credentialing requirements.
Minimum Requirements
+ Current and active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
+ National NP Certification (AANP, ANCC), preferred.
+ Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Medicine NP experience required.
+ DEA registration for the state of practice.
+ ACLS certification required; CPR/BLS as applicable.
+ CME documentation and case logs from the past 2 years required at the start of credentialing.
+ Must maintain any required collaboration/supervision agreements per state regulations.
+ TB screening (questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray) as applicable.
+ Current health certificate per contract or regulatory requirement.
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local compliance requirements.
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Specialty training or certification in Emergency Medicine (e.g., ENP-C) — preferred but not required.
+ Strong clinical decision-making skills and comfort managing diverse acuity levels.
+ Experience working in high-volume or fast-paced clinical environments.
+ Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-engagement skills.
