Job Summary
To define the role of an EMT in the Emergency Management Services Department in a patient care setting. EMT's may perform technical patient care functions in accordance with their scope of practice under state law and in accordance with the policy/procedure and under direction of the Paramedic. If there is any conflict between the state law regarding scope of practice and the policy/procedure, the more stringent shall apply. For example, if an activity is permitted under state law but not under policy/procedure, then the policy/procedure shall govern.

Strong interpersonal and team skillsMedical terminology.Ability to analyze and improve patient flow and operational processes.Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories.Knowledge of laboratory and quality control procedures.Ability to conduct comprehensive health assessmentsWorks well in a team-based environment.Ability to handle stressful situations and interact with others.Licenses and Certifications
Drivers License - MDOT Medical Physical State drivers license requiredEMT - Emergency Medical Tech Certification EMT- Certification requiredBCLS - Basic Life Support requiredState Specific Requirements
