Allied Universal® is hiring an Emergency Management Coordinator. The Emergency Management Coordinator will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the implementation, management and continuous improvement of the Environmental Health and Safety Management System in all areas related to fire prevention, emergency response and crisis management in support of Corporate Health & Safety, Corporate Security, facilities, events and operations for a high profile customer. The Emergency Management Coordinator may expect up to 25% overnight travel to support business needs. This role is expected to be in office a minimum of three (3) days per week at Milwaukee based sites. This may change based on business needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide leadership and expert-level support to key stakeholders in the development of standards and solutions for fire prevention and emergency response in compliance with regulatory (OSHA and other) and best practice standards (ANSI, NFPA, ACGIH, etc.), support the management of existing safety-related policies, programs and procedures, and if required, represent facility in various Corporate Safety Best Practice Groups to implement best practices across the businessCollaborate directly with site Environment, Health, & Safety (EHS) to lead the day-to-day operations and systems of emergency response teams, including Evacuation Wardens, Emergency Action Response Team (HEART) and chemical spill response (as needed) and appropriate messaging; this includes timely training and development of training, maintaining certifications, leading team meetings and maintaining effective team structures to support the teams and overall facility emergency response organizationAct as a leader in guiding and coordinating required evacuation / take shelter drills with customer site contactsWork with the Crisis Management Team (CMT) leaders at the appropriate facilities to conduct CMT meetings and table-top exercises. This role will serve as the primary back up for CMT activationsEMC Work Instruction, training, and documentation management for all EMC-related documentation, develop and deliver emergency response, crisis management, and other safety-related trainingProvide CPR / AED / First Aid training for customer locationsAdminister Emergency Alert system for employee management and message communicationComplete site surveys to review adherence to manual and practices; this includes new or existing sites to bring them up the corporate standardEvaluate and monitor emergency management programs and identify gaps and create recommendations for corrective actionsManage and facilitate After Action Reviews (AAR) for events meeting AAR criteriaFacilitate and manage a structure that promotes the effective utilization of the Incident Command SystemProvide technical fire safety support and consultation to all stakeholders including, but not limited to, incident investigation, interpretation of safety regulations and the application of safety policy, process and procedures.Manage fire hazard assessments to ensure compliance with fire prevention codes, laws, standards and best practicesManage and track routine inspections and repairs related to:Emergency lighting systemsFire alarm systems and pull stationsFire system control valvesFlow testing of sprinkler systemsFire extinguishersFire pumpsEmergency team equipment and suppliesConsult with facility engineering and operations personnel in the planning, review and approval of all modifications to building and operational designs that impact life safety, egress and suppression systemsAssist in the implementation of a communication plan that is targeted to raise awareness and reinforce existing fire prevention, emergency management and other Health & Safety policies, processes, and proceduresDevelop, track, and communicate key performance indicators and reports to demonstrate progress, continuous improvement and engage stakeholdersSupport customer events team; develop emergency management plan and support Tier 1 eventsQUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
American Heart Association BLS Instructor training or the ability to successfully completeMust possess one of the following:Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, health and safety, or related field of studyAssociate’s degree emergency management, health and safety, or related field of study with a minimum of three (3) years of environmental, health, and safety experience background, to include regulatory experienceMinimum of one (1) year of environmental, health, and safety experience background, to include regulatory experienceGeneral working knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA codes, fire protection systems and/or emergency and crisis management team structures, regulations and best practices standardsDemonstrated self-started with ability to prioritize work with minimal directionCapable of interfacing and communicating with all levels of the organizationWorking knowledge of computers and office applications softwarePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):
Emergency Management Certification in one or more of the following:Professional Emergency Manager (PEM)Certified Emergency Manager (CEM)Associate Emergency Manager (AEM)OSHA 10/30 Hour TrainingNFPA Certifications/TrainingBENEFITS:
