EMEACLA Scientific Relations, Partnerships & Policy Engagement Senior Manager

The Senior Manager, Scientific Relations, Partnerships & Policy Engagement EMEACLA plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing Edwards’ regional Structural Heart scientific engagement strategy with key opinion leaders (KOLs), medical societies, networks, and scientific and policy stakeholders.

 

This role sits at the intersection of external policy and scientific engagement and focuses on strategic collaborations that advances policy prioritization, evidence generation, guideline implementation, patient pathways, adoption of innovation. The role does not focus on product or therapy promotions.

This role is open only in ITALY or BELGIUM.

 

Key Responsibilities

Scientific and Medical Society Partnerships & Engagement

Manage long-term, trust-based partnerships with medical societies, key opinion leaders and experts, as well as multidisciplinary stakeholders - ensuring alignment with scientific, clinical, and public health priorities.

Contribute to roll-out of Edwards partnerships with medical societies in close collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Lead strategic engagement planning, including mapping, prioritization, and coordinated engagement in collaboration with Medical Affairs, Business Units and Public Affairs teams

Policy networks

Monitor and - where relevant - engage specifically on European policy and legislative opportunities and developments, and craft Edwards policy positions on key priorities in alignment with business strategy.

Manage EU stakeholder relations – trade associations, coalitions - in alignment with business strategy and public health priorities 

 

Science, Evidence & Public Health Impact

Support translation of complex scientific, clinical, and public health / policy concepts into clear strategic insights for internal teams.

Identify opportunities where Edwards’ science and innovation can support broader healthcare system goals, including access, quality of care, and outcomes

Required Qualifications

Advanced degree in public health or social sciences, life sciences, biomedical sciences, health sciences, epidemiology, or a related scientific discipline.

Master’s degree  strongly preferred; MD is not required.

Significant experience (typically 7–10+ years) in scientific engagement, public health / policy, or medical affairs, ideally within medical devices, pharmaceuticals, academia, or healthcare systems.

Demonstrated experience working with in multistakeholder environments, either in medical society contexts or in policy (with preference at EU Level) 

Strong understanding of healthcare systems

Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.

Strategic thinker with the ability to operate at both system-level and executional level.

Ability to work closely across the organization, including Medical Affairs, Strategy and Business Units to ensure a coordinated and compliant external engagement approach.

Ability to develop engagement frameworks, KPIs, and best practices for scientific partnerships.

Strong communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex science into clear messages.

Strong organization skills, working independently in a fast-paced environment and matrix-driven organization

High integrity, sound judgment, and strong commitment to ethical and compliant engagement.
