Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical EMEA Customs Specialist to join our team in Hannover, Germany. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with customs regulations across the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, managing import/export processes, and optimizing our international trade operations.
Manage and oversee customs compliance for all EMEA shipmentsConduct tariff classification and customs valuation for goodsSupport in Determination and Documentation of Goods OriginSupport in Execution of our Customs Compliance Management System (CMS) and Internal Control System (ICS)Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, business partners, and internal departmentsMonitor changes in customs regulations and trade laws across the EMEA regionSupport implementation of strategies to optimize customs processes and reduce costsProvide guidance to internal stakeholders on customs procedures and best practicesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth international trade operationsMaintain accurate records and prepare reports on customs activities and performance metricsQualificationsAcademic degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field or business-related vocational training with relevant professional experienceSeveral years of experience in customs compliance or a related fieldIn-depth knowledge of EMEA customs regulations and international trade lawsProficiency in customs documentation, tariff classification, and valuation proceduresExperience with trade compliance software and Microsoft Office SuiteStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailExcellent organizational and time management abilitiesBusiness fluent German and English language skills (written and spoken).
