Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced EMC Technical Lead Engineer to drive excellence in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing and compliance. This role combines hands-on technical execution with leadership responsibilities, including mentoring team members, enhancing lab capabilities, and ensuring adherence to industry standards. Key Responsibilities
Lead the implementation of EMC/EMI test plans, setups, and procedures in accordance with OEM and regulatory standards.
Perform advanced EMI/RFI troubleshooting and noise mitigation on complex systems and subassemblies.
Review and approve technical documentation, including test plans, reports, and summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
Mentor and train engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across lab processes, data quality, throughput, and documentation integrity.
Represent the lab in external engagements such as customer visits, standards committees, and vendor meetings.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field, or a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
7–10+ years of hands-on EMC testing experience, including troubleshooting and lab operations.
In-depth knowledge of EMC standards and regulations, including GM 3097, FMC 1278, CISPR, IEC 61000, and ECE Reg 10.
Proficiency with EMC test equipment and software tools such as Nexio-BatEMC, CANalyzer, CANoe, and Dewesoft/DAQ systems.
Strong technical skills with EMI receivers, network analyzers, and multi-channel monitoring tools.
Proven experience mentoring technical staff and leading by example.
Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
Preferred:
Experience in automotive or aerospace EMC testing environments.
Familiarity with lab accreditation processes and quality systems (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025).
Participation in industry standards development or technical working groups.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
