The Embedded Systems Manager for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting modules and applying life cycle management principles and upholding established design practices and quality processes throughout development.

This position reports to the Head of Life Cycle Management & Group Manager and is part of the R&D Hardware/Systems Development team located in Bengaluru – BDC and will be an on-site role. 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Provide strong leadership and guidance to the Embedded team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.Drive the design and development of Beckman Coulter Diagnostics new and on-market products and ensure that all software associates, processes, and products remain aligned with worldwide medical device regulations and guidance while following Beckman’s internal proceduresOversee the entire embedded systems development lifecycle, from requirements to testing and releaseIndependently own and drive multiple critical work streams; this includes vision/direction setting, overseeing the overall planning and execution toward clear objectives with measurable key resultsProvide hands-on technical leadership on multiple fronts (architecture/design, code reviews, and incident management)Mentor and develop team members, ensuring their growth and career progression.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineering, software engineering, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing.

The essential requirements of the job include:

Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 12+ years of experience OR Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience, including 3+ years leading peopleExpertise in C/C++, RTOS environments, and embedded debugging tools like oscilloscope, JTAG Debugger and Logic Analyzers.  Strong understanding of microcontroller and SoC architectures (ARM Cortex, TI, NXP, etc.). Hands-on experience with embedded protocols (SPI, I2C, CAN, USB) and hardware interface debugging. Exposure to FPGA development, simulation, and integration with embedded systems.Ability to develop strong teams, strategically deploy resources, and enable a positive team culture

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: 

Medical device design & development or IVD instrumentation, such as clinical chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, urinalysis, molecular microbiology or flow cytometry systems is a plus Familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles, Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards (IEC 62304, ISO 13485, FDA Class II). Familiarity with Agile Software Development, Version control and Code Inspection (GIT, TFS, JIRA Etc.)
