Job DescriptionAs an Embedded Software Tester, you will be responsible for validating firmware software to detect defects as early as possible in the development lifecycle. Testing is primarily performed through automation, with a strong focus on quality, robustness, and maintainability.
You will work closely within the firmware development team, collaborating daily with firmware developers and applying Clean Code principles when developing test software. The role plays a key part in ensuring high-quality embedded software for wireless gateway products.
Your contribution to something big:
Create and implement risk-based test plans in close collaboration with firmware developers and fellow testers;Design, review, and manage test cases using Jira XRay;Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and test environments;Execute tests, analyze results, and create clear and structured test reports;Communicate test results, risks, and issues transparently to the team and stakeholders;Collaborate with other Bosch TT departments on testing-related topics;Act as the testing point of contact within the team;Proactively drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team and department, with a strong focus on product quality.QualificationsWhat distinguishes you:
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering or a similar technical field;ISTQB certification, Certified Agile Tester, or similar certifications are considered a plus.Experience and Know-how:
Proven experience as a Firmware / Embedded Software Tester in an electronic or technical product development environment;Strong experience with test automation, including tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Robot Framework;Close collaboration with firmware engineering teams, particularly regarding unit testing in C/C++;Experience with methodical testing approaches within an Agile development environment;Strong understanding of embedded systems and firmware development processes.Languages
