Position Description:
As the Manager, Capital & Growth Procurement, you will play a critical role in enabling Nevada Gold Mines’ largest and most complex projects. You will lead the sourcing and procurement of specialized engineering and capital equipment—ensuring technically compliant solutions are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
In this role, you will partner closely with engineering, projects, operations, and external suppliers to manage purchasing, logistics, contracts, and supplier relationships across sustaining and capital initiatives. You will be trusted to navigate technical complexity, drive commercial value, and ensure full alignment with Supply Chain systems, business processes, and Nevada Gold Mines’ strategic objectives.
Beyond execution, this position offers the opportunity to shape how capital procurement is done. You will champion continuous improvement, strengthen supplier partnerships, and help build long-term organizational capability that supports future growth.
Key Responsibilities
Manage Supply Chain business partners for sustaining and capital projects, including quality, expediting, and logistics activitiesEnsure sourcing and procurement activities are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner in alignment with Nevada Gold Mines goals, values, and standardsEnsure all Supply Chain activities comply with applicable legislation, regulations, company policies, and environmental and social responsibility standardsReview contractor orders for high-value and high-volume items to improve pricing, lead time, quality, and commercial termsConduct supplier site visits and receiving warehouse inspections to ensure quality control of manufactured goodsManage expediting activities, monitor manufacturing and delivery progress, and analyze contractor reportsProvide manufacturing status updates to support progress payment approvalsPlan and coordinate logistics activities, including shipping, freight consolidation, and packaging optimizationClarify technical specifications with Supply Chain partners for construction activities handled directly by Nevada Gold MinesPlan supply strategies to meet project schedules and budget objectivesDevelop internal site capabilities for one-off engineering purchases and formalize expediting and quality assurance processesManage change control for technical items, ensuring appropriate technical and commercial justification and effective run-out plans in coordination with the Mine Supply and Commercial ManagerIdentify cost-saving opportunities through improved packaging, route optimization, and rate negotiationsSupport the transition of capital supply to operations through collaboration with project and operations teams to ensure continuity of supplyEnsure supplier approvals align with group sourcing and procurement strategies in partnership with the Central Sourcing LeadDevelop the skills and capabilities of direct and indirect reports through performance management, feedback, mentoring, and career guidanceAct as a champion and mentor for all resources within the Supply Chain organizationCommunicate effectively and professionally with management, coworkers, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholdersDeliver clear, concise information across multiple communication channelsPlan and prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines and project requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum 7 years of progressive Supply Chain experience, including team leadership and direct reports requiredInternationally recognized professional Supply Chain qualification preferredMining industry experience preferredStrong commercial and contract negotiation backgroundAbility to read and interpret technical drawingsUnderstanding of risks associated with construction and capital projectsProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) and enterprise-level software systemsExcellent written and verbal communication skills
