We are a homeschool enrichment program who meets with students TK-3rd grade out in Caspers Wilderness Park to learn together in community. We believe students need time & space to learn in an organic way. We hope to create a space that is child led, small in size & rich in nature. Our community believes in learning from the earth, being together in community & living life to its fullest.

Job Summary Job Summary

: Harvest Outdoor Education provides enrichment classes for homeschooling families. We believe in the importance of community and value the role of nature in our educational journey. We believe that learning is innate and beautiful and children need the time and space to harvest learning in an organic way. While at Harvest, you will be a part of a nurturing, passionate, outdoor community teaching grade specific classes to homeschooling students. Our classes meet in person, outdoors at Casper’s Wilderness Park, on most Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30am-2:30pm throughout the months September-May. During this time you will teach nature inspired curriculum alongside other teachers/classes that focuses on natural rhythms and seasons. All available positions are for lower elementary (TK-4th grade).

Under general guidance & support, the teacher must be able to: 1. Provide instruction/lessons that meets Harvest curriculum guidelines & California State Standards  2. Establish classroom management procedures & positive behavioral interventions and support 3. Bring/set up class materials and class space to manage a pod of 12 students 4. Help supervise & teach throughout the day during activities that are not class specific 5. Implement safety procedures & general precautions when working in the outdoor environment with plants and animals 6. Work comfortably in an outdoor environment, rain or shine

Requirements / Qualifications

College degree required. Teaching credential recommended but not required. Individual must be creative, have good judgment, have experience and/or passion working in an outdoor environment & be eager to make a difference with the next generation!
