This includes counseling, crisis intervention, advocacy, and connecting families with community resources. The School Social Worker collaborates with teachers, administrators, parents, and external agencies to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Primary Functions: + Student Support + Behavioral Interventions + Crisis Intervention + IEP and 504 Documentation + Community Resource Connection + Data Tracking + Clinical Assessments + Functional Behavioral Assessments + Reporting Supervisory Functions: + Supervise MSW students (1 hour per week per student: individual and one hour of group supervision) + MSW interns report two days per week Duties and Responsibilities: Student Support: + Conduct individual and group counseling sessions with 30-40 students per social worker + Develop and implement intervention strategies to improve students' social and academic functioning + Assist students in developing coping strategies and problem-solving skills Behavioral Interventions: + Implement and track behavioral interventions for students + Document and update IEP and 504 plans for mandated sessions Crisis Intervention: + Respond to crises involving students, such as incidents of violence, abuse, or mental health emergencies + Handle crisis response and suicidal ideations, including assessment, documentation, and reporting + Conduct CPS reporting and assist staff in the reporting process IEP and 504 Documentation: + Ensure accurate and timely documentation for IEP/504 students + Participate in IEP and 504 meetings and provide necessary input for student plans Community Resource Connection: + Bridge the gap between community resources and family needs + Connect families with community resources and services, including mental health care, housing assistance, and financial support Data Tracking: + Track data related to clinical treatment plans, interventions, and outcomes + Maintain accurate records of student progress and services provided Assessments: + Perform Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) to identify student needs Reporting: + Prepare and submit reports for DASA, McKinney-Vento, and other required documentation + Participate in grand rounds and monthly team meetings to discuss student progress and coordinate services Supervision: + Provide individual and group supervision for MSW students and interns Parent Meetings: + Facilitate and participate in parent meetings to discuss student progress and needs + Collaborate with parents to develop and implement support plans for their children Key Competencies: + Expertise in clinical assessments and interventions + Strong communication and interpersonal skills + Crisis management and problem-solving abilities + Organizational and time management skills + Ability to handle confidential information with discretion How it Supports the Mission and Vision: + Enhances student well-being and academic success through comprehensive support services + Promotes a positive and inclusive school culture by addressing social and emotional needs + Strengthens the connection between school, family, and community resources Evaluation: + The performance of the School Social Worker will be evaluated annually by the Principals and the Director of SEL.
