Elementary ESL/ML Teacher — Starting January 5, 2026 Pay: $35–$40 per hour Start Date: 1/5/2026 Location: Elementary School (Wisconsin) Position Overview We are seeking a passionate and culturally responsive Elementary ESL/ML (Multilingual Learner) Teacher to provide targeted language instruction and support to K–5 multilingual learners. The ideal candidate will create inclusive learning environments, collaborate effectively with staff, and help students achieve high academic expectations while developing English proficiency. Key Responsibilities + Deliver effective ESL instruction using a variety of service models, including push-in, pull-out, and co-teaching approaches. + Support students across a range of English proficiency levels (WIDA). + Administer and interpret language assessments, including WIDA ACCESS and WIDA Screener, to identify students, monitor progress, and guide instruction. + Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and school administrators to modify curriculum, provide accommodations, and advocate for ML learners. + Maintain clear and culturally responsive communication with families, including coordinating interpreter services and providing accessible materials. + Support a positive home–school connection by engaging families in students’ academic and language development. Ideal Candidate Will Have + Experience designing and delivering ESL/ML instruction for elementary students. + Strong understanding of WIDA standards and proficiency levels. + Knowledge of effective strategies for scaffolding grade-level content for English learners. + A commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive teaching practices. + Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Qualifications + Valid or eligible Wisconsin DPI ESL/ESL-related certification (or equivalent eligibility). + Prior experience working with multilingual learners at the elementary level preferred.
